The traditional 8th COTRUGLI Days started today and will last until Saturday, October 13.
Within this annual COTRUGLI event, EMBA ZG 14, EMBA 9 Belgrade & MBA 8 generations are attending the Business 360 module, while EMBA ZG 15, EMBA 10 Belgrade & MBA 9 generations are participating at the Entrepreneurship module with professor Davide Sola.
Business 360 module is delivered by professors Terence Tse, PhD, Danny Goh and Mark Esposito.
This module places emphasis on multiple perspectives of business and society. More specifically, it focuses on how frontier technologies are changing the business landscapes and vice versa. On successful completion of this module, students will be able to understand the developments of the latest frontier technologies, develop an understanding of the impact and implications of new technologies in economies, societies and businesses and consider how new technologies will reshape specific industries.
Entrepreneurship module is delivered by Professor Davide Sola, PhD.
During this module, students will develop skills for evaluating, articulating, refining and pitching a new product or service offering, either as a start-up business or a new initiative within an existing firm. At the end of this module, students will be able to understand and distinguish an “opportunity” from an Idea, have the ability to create successful Value Propositions that responds to real “vivid” needs of a customer segment and have creative confidence that will help them to respond with creativity to the many challenges that entrepreneurs need to face.
Shortly about the lecturers:
Terence Tse, PhD is Associate Professor of Finance at ESCP Europe Business School and visiting professor at COTRUGLI. Terence obtained his PhD in Management Studies from the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK. As an independent consultant, Terence advised Shell International, F&C Asset Management, Alliance Boots, Alitalia as well as a Cambridge University-based biotech start-up.
Dr. Mark Esposito teaches Business, Government & Society & Economic Strategy and Competitiveness for Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education and serves as Institutes Council Co-Leader, at the Microeconomics of Competitiveness program (MOC) at the Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, at Harvard Business School.
Danny Goh is a serial entrepreneur and an early stage investor. He is the partner and Commercial Director of Nexus Frontier Tech, an AI advisory business with presence in London, Geneva, Boston and Tokyo to assist CEO and board members of different organizations to build innovative businesses taking full advantage of artificial intelligence technology.
Davide Sola is Associate Professor of Strategy, former Director of ESCP Europe London campus and Visiting Professor at COTRUGLI Business School. He earned his doctorate in Enterprise Economics from the University of Torino with a thesis on ” – Organizational transformation”. Dr. Sola’s research interests are in corporate transformation, strategic renewal, entrepreneurship and applied enterprise economics.

Executive MBA 9 generation has attended their fourteenth module and the last one maintained in Belgrade. Leadership, Communication and Change module was delivered by Professor Michael Hathorn last weekend.
Our students accomplished the objectives of this course: they developed insights and master tools that will help them meet their own leadership challenges in a dynamic environment; and enhanced their team projects through the application of learning achieved during the module. During 4 day long module, we covered topics such as creating a motivating environment to support the achievement of business results, leading in complex environments, the characteristics of effective leaders in different situations, situational leadership simulations, leadership communication within individual, team and organizational levels, leading individual, team and organizational performance, leading innovation and change.
Professor Michael is a partner of OPTIMIS Sarl where he focuses on the consulting practice areas of Organizational Strategy, Executive Learning and Organizational Development. At Optimis, he works with clients and his partners to create and deliver high impact custom organizational development and learning solutions. His specialty is working with top leaders and their leadership teams to drive change in the organization.
Professor Michael earned a PhD in International Business at the University of St. Gallen and is a member of various professional organizations, including the Doctoral Network (DocNet), the Society for Organizational Learning (SOL), the Silicon Valley Association (SVA) and the American Marketing Association (AMA) organization. Michael has significant experience in leadership positions in industry and public sector enterprises. At Capital International in Geneva, a privately held investment management company, he founded and headed the Training and Development function for the European businesses. In his role as Group Director of Leadership at TNT in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Michael served on the HR Strategy Council and drove key strategic initiatives in the area of HR Transformation, established a Change Management center of Expertise and developed the Leadership and Learning Framework for the top 500 executives.
Last weekend Executive MBA 9 generation attended their Advanced Finance module in Bucharest, delivered by Professor Terence Tse. As our students gained basic knowledge about Financial Management last year, this time they build on the already developed concepts.
The main goal was to enable participants to discern the connections between strategies and finance, thereby making the course suitable for executives of both large corporations and start-ups. The course therefore focused on basic derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital.
Professor Terence Tse is an Associate Professor of Finance at ESCP Europe Business School and Head of Competitiveness Studies at i7 Institute for Innovation and Competitiveness. Professor Terence Tse is a co-founder and managing director of Nexus Frontier Tech: An AI Studio, which customises artificial intelligence products for its clients to build up new capabilities to attain unfair Harness the Power of Today’s Megatrends. Terence worked on mergers and acquisitions at Schroders, Citibank and Lazard Brothers in Montréal and New York. He also worked in London as a consultant at Ernst & Young focusing on UK financial services. Additionally, as an independent consultant, Terence advised Shell International, F&C Asset Management, Alliance Boots, Alitalia as well as a Cambridge University-based biotech start-up. He also wrote the book Corporate Finance: The Basics.
Combination of lectures, real-world examples, assignments and exercises made this module very inspiring and interesting. The end of the module was reserved for discussion about entrepreneurship projects. Students got a meaningful feedback and a final conclusion about their business idea, which turned out to be very useful for them.
