Saturday, December 8, was a very special day for Executive MBA 14, MBA 8, Chief Executive MBA and Online MBA students. In the presence of many family members and friends, they received their well-deserved degrees. The graduation ceremony was organized in Zagreb in the Aula Magna at Catholic University of Croatia.
Maja Ciglenečki was a moderator of the ceremony. She welcomed guests and opened the event. Professor Jyoti Gupta, the Dean, congratulated all the graduates for successfully completing all the MBA requirements and also emphasized in his speech on the importance of lifelong learning. Afterwards, Petra Kosić, Senior Executive Program Supervisor, together with the Dean awarded the graduates with MBA degree and congratulated them on the achieved results.
All of the students worked hard during the program, but some of them have shown exceptional commitment and academic achievement. Valedictorians of the EMBA 14 generation are Hrvoje Špalj and Subeije Kalo. MBA 8 generation has also two valedictorians: Vice Buljanović and Jelena Flego.
Congratulations to all graduates! We wish you to use your new skills, knowledge and a way of thinking to achieve business success and personal satisfaction.
After the graduation ceremony, the good mood continued with Alumni Party where we hosted all of our graduates and Alumni. The party took place at the Book Café in Zagreb. We have enjoyed the party and would like to thank all guests for creating an excellent atmosphere!
On November 17, 2018 MBA Generation 8 and Executive MBA Generation 14 completed their Business Plan Presentations in Zagreb.
Within 2 years of the their Program, students were assigned in teams in which they were developing their original business ideas. At the end of the program, students showed development of their ideas through detailed Business Plans in front of the COTRUGLI Defense Committee consisted out of team of experts.
Members of the Defense Committee were amazed with the level of creativity, innovation and and viability of their projects.
We congratulate all our students on this big success and wish them all the best in bringing their business ideas to the market!
The traditional 8th COTRUGLI Days started today and will last until Saturday, October 13.
Within this annual COTRUGLI event, EMBA ZG 14, EMBA 9 Belgrade & MBA 8 generations are attending the Business 360 module, while EMBA ZG 15, EMBA 10 Belgrade & MBA 9 generations are participating at the Entrepreneurship module with professor Davide Sola.
Business 360 module is delivered by professors Terence Tse, PhD, Danny Goh and Mark Esposito.
This module places emphasis on multiple perspectives of business and society. More specifically, it focuses on how frontier technologies are changing the business landscapes and vice versa. On successful completion of this module, students will be able to understand the developments of the latest frontier technologies, develop an understanding of the impact and implications of new technologies in economies, societies and businesses and consider how new technologies will reshape specific industries.
Entrepreneurship module is delivered by Professor Davide Sola, PhD.
During this module, students will develop skills for evaluating, articulating, refining and pitching a new product or service offering, either as a start-up business or a new initiative within an existing firm. At the end of this module, students will be able to understand and distinguish an “opportunity” from an Idea, have the ability to create successful Value Propositions that responds to real “vivid” needs of a customer segment and have creative confidence that will help them to respond with creativity to the many challenges that entrepreneurs need to face.
Shortly about the lecturers:
Terence Tse, PhD is Associate Professor of Finance at ESCP Europe Business School and visiting professor at COTRUGLI. Terence obtained his PhD in Management Studies from the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK. As an independent consultant, Terence advised Shell International, F&C Asset Management, Alliance Boots, Alitalia as well as a Cambridge University-based biotech start-up.
Dr. Mark Esposito teaches Business, Government & Society & Economic Strategy and Competitiveness for Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education and serves as Institutes Council Co-Leader, at the Microeconomics of Competitiveness program (MOC) at the Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, at Harvard Business School.
Danny Goh is a serial entrepreneur and an early stage investor. He is the partner and Commercial Director of Nexus Frontier Tech, an AI advisory business with presence in London, Geneva, Boston and Tokyo to assist CEO and board members of different organizations to build innovative businesses taking full advantage of artificial intelligence technology.
Davide Sola is Associate Professor of Strategy, former Director of ESCP Europe London campus and Visiting Professor at COTRUGLI Business School. He earned his doctorate in Enterprise Economics from the University of Torino with a thesis on ” – Organizational transformation”. Dr. Sola’s research interests are in corporate transformation, strategic renewal, entrepreneurship and applied enterprise economics.

MBA 8 generation attended their Digital Transformation module last weekend in Zagreb. The module was held by Professor Manuel Alonso Coto, a global expert on the topic of Digital Transformation coming from Madrid, Spain.
During this 3 day long module our students were equipped to confidently help conceive, lead and execute digital innovation initiatives and develop new business models for existing and insurgent organizations. The digital revolution is rapidly transforming the fundamental nature of many companies in a wide range of industries and executives, entrepreneurs and general managers need to understand the economics, technology paradigms and management practices of innovating in digital-centric businesses to ensure corporate and personal success.
The module introduced the critical elements of designing and developing digital products and services, how these can be configured and lead, and how the results are managed. These elements include economic and technological principles underlying digital transformation, identifying and integrating diverse user needs, organizing and leading product and service innovation initiatives, harnessing crowdsourcing and distributed innovation networks.
Our Professor Manuel A. Alonso Coto, Ph.D. is a director of Innovation, Digital Transformation & Marketing, Executive Education at IE Business School. Also, he currently works as Academic Counselor for Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Spain and Board’s External Advisor for Greater Than One, Europe and Diana Media Group (fifth digital advertising agency in US). Professor Alonso has written 12 books related to the topics of Digital Operations, Recruitment & Self Branding, Political & Direct Marketing, Social Media Marketing Plan etc.
