Strategies for a smarter and better future
In a world of tectonic change, the question facing leaders is how to create and lead systems that are both resilient and trustworthy.
Professor Terence Tse, lecturer at COTRUGLI Business School, together with colleagues Olaf J. Grothom and Mark Esposito, and with the support of research partner Dan Zehr, in his latest book “The Great Remobilization” analyzes the tectonic changes in the world economy to design a more advanced ” operating system” for the world.
The authors point the way forward through their FLP-IT framework (Forces, Logics, Phenomena, Influences, and Triages) for strategic leadership, guiding a new kind of leader – the “activist designer leader”. Focusing on key tectonic shifts they call the Five Cs – COVID and pandemic management, cognitive economy and crypto, cyber security, climate change and carbon management, and China – they explore the implications that new forces and logic have on states, organizations, and individuals.
Redesigning Global Strategies
In recent years, leaders have been presented with an unprecedented opportunity to redesign global strategies and systems and re-mobilize towards a smarter, more resilient, and just future. Using insights from hundreds of interviews and conversations with top CEOs, entrepreneurs, politicians, diplomats, generals, scientists, and other leading experts worldwide, the authors show how to create new inclusive visions to restore trust that will enable the growth of both people and the Reeconomy.
The Great Remobilization powerfully illustrates the rare opportunity we have at this historic moment to actively redesign our fragile, overburdened global systems and develop new strategies and approaches to leading the future.
Practical tips that Professor Tse suggests include:
Adaptive leadership: Leaders should be flexible and ready for faster changes, adapting strategies to emerging situations.
Diversification of talent: Investing in talent with different skills and experiences enriches the perspectives and solutions an organization can offer.
Fostering Innovation: Creating a culture that values creativity and innovation is key to developing resilience to long-term challenges.
Sustainability and responsibility: Integrating the principles of sustainability into all aspects of business not only increases the resilience of the organization but also builds trust with stakeholders.
Change management: Encouraging open dialogue about changes and their impact, as well as training employees to adapt to new realities.
The goal of the Masterclass is to think strategically about what awaits us in the future and what we need to do to create a smarter and better future.
The event will be held on November 23, 2023, starting at 3:00 p.m. in COTRUGLI Business School in Zagreb premises.
