Tech as Enabler for Transformation
This module aims to provide the foundational knowledge and a unique toolkit for leaders to embrace and capitalize on the challenges of the future. New digital technologies and data analytics are rapidly changing the expectations of customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Though many of today's business leaders are neither technology experts nor digital natives, technology is critical to their ability to keep a business competitive and drive growth. The module will cover 3 pillars needed to master modern enterprise management, by focusing on the three main challenges and opportunities businesses encounter these days: Digital Strategy, Data Strategy, and Edge Technologies Strategies.
TECH 1 - Technology Foundations
Although the majority of business users deal with business software and tools, for the participants to gain a full understanding of technology's impact on the business, we must start from the founding ones. This module is designed to give participants a basic understanding of key terminology and functionalities of different technologies piling up as the kind of background systems required to support business processes. Participants will be given different real-life use cases and will have a chance to discuss the maturity level of adoption of each of them within their respective organizations.
TECH 2 - Application of Technology
Once we explain what is “behind the scenes”, participants will be introduced to the application of those technologies in regular business processes. This module will touch on different aspects of data, its stor- age and usage. The module will start by exploring Blockchain (DLT – Distributed Ledger Technology) which enables trustworthy storage and transfer of data followed by the use of data through Data Science where participants will be introduced to a definition of data science and what data scientists do, tools and algorithms used daily within the field, the role of data science within a business and how to form a strong data science team in their organisation.
We will also explore two tools that empower organizations to make more informed, data-driven decisions - Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics. Going further in the application of technology, participants will be introduced to basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) and how all these acronyms fit together to be used in their business processes.
TECH BOOTCAMP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP BOOTCAMP
As a part of the program, participants need to work on Tech Transformation projects that will provide them with experimental action learning opportunities and will also increase the impact of the program by generating a set of new, technology-based ideas related to issues that create value for their companies. The purpose of this action learning project, which will be completed during the program, is to encourage participants to think innovatively and to use any of the emerging technologies to solve a customer or business challenge that has not yet been addressed by their organization.
.
After the TECH 1 and TECH 2 module where participants have been acquainted with the core concepts and examples regarding the emerging technologies, they are tasked to run Ideation sessions and develop several practical ideas related to their organizations. During the TECH BOOTCAMP small teams will work on selected ideas through a sequence of challenges – building blocks of the outcome. Upon successful completion of all challenges, they will convert them into a well-rounded Project proposal containing everything needed to evaluate the business benefits of the initiative.
Evaluation is done at the Final TECH Transformation Project Pitch Session.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP BOOTCAMP
The Entrepreneurship course is a dynamic and integrative journey that serves as the backbone of the program, fostering a robust entrepreneurial mindset essential for modern business leaders. The course begins with an introduction to entrepreneurial imagination, where students start shaping their ideas into tangible business concepts. These ideas should be related to novel technologies like AI, Robotics, IoT, Blockchain, Cloud, Edge, Quantum Computing, the Metaverse, and XR. COTRUGLI also encourages the development of projects with a clear social impact in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As the program progresses, participants engage in multiple 'innovation sprints,' applying learned concepts to refine and evolve their business ideas. This iterative process ensures a deep understanding and practi- cal application of entrepreneurial principles in real-world scenarios. The three-day Entrepreneurship Boot Camp is central to the course, culminating the learning and experience gained. Here, students immerse themselves in intensive power pitch sessions, further refining their business plans and entrepreneurial skills. The boot camp environment is designed to simulate the challenges of a real entrepreneurial jour- ney, providing an invaluable experiential learning opportunity.
The grand finale of the course is the Business Plan Pitch. This event is not just a presentation but a celebration of innovation and hard work. Students present their fully developed business plans to an audience of fellow alumni, venture capitalists, mentors, and special guests. This pitch serves as the final EMBA assessment, where students demonstrate their ability to innovate, articulate, and persuade - key skills for any successful entrepreneur and valuable skills for any progressive leader.
Throughout the course, students delve into creative problem-solving, market capture strategies, and organizational effectiveness through innovation. The course emphasizes the importance of agility and adaptability in a globalized, competitive market. Students learn about successful frameworks, funding strategies, and overcoming barriers to innovation. By the end of the course, participants are not only equipped to launch and lead successful ventures but also to drive innovation within existing organizations.
