EMBA 21 Graduation Ceremony: Speech by Vjekoslav Majetić

As part of the EMBA 21 Graduation Ceremony, Vjekoslav Majetić, Owner of DOK-ING, delivered a speech during the diploma award ceremony. The speech is presented in full below.

What you have learned here is the most important thing: how to navigate, communicate, and survive in this turbulent world we live in today. Croatia, as it is, is very demanding for all entrepreneurs. The journey you have experienced, learned from, and just completed is a good step and an opportunity to make it easier for you to manage everything in the future.

The most important thing is that you have matured and that you can add new experiences, new friendships, and new connections to the ones you’ve already had. These will be essential for you to successfully lead the companies you are in now or will be in the future. It’s clear that you see this as I did when I was here—I gained experiences I never thought I would need, especially in communication and organizing larger business operations. The world ahead of us, which we don’t know how it will turn out or where it will go, is preparing us, as is this education we’ve had so far, to handle all the changes that are coming. You know that the way we work and think is changing significantly.

Artificial intelligence brings us new assistance but also new challenges. You need to know how to deal with something that might replace us in some areas today or tomorrow. This doesn’t mean we will lose our jobs, but we must always know how to ask for what we want from it and where it will take us.

Certainly, we must adapt to everything happening around us. In the end, you have proven this by completing this program here. I am glad that we are colleagues and that, perhaps at some point in your life, you will cross paths with the school again, and together we might create something new. Even more, I look forward to seeing you plan and organize your lives in a way that brings the best and most pleasant outcomes for you, your families, and, of course, your employees, so that everyone is satisfied and happy. I wish you great success, peace, and joy in what you do.

Thank you for completing this program, which will take you one step further toward a better future.
